Kuching: H&L Retail Sdn. Bhd. (H&L) today handed over 74 units charity bags sold at its outlets in Kuching and Samarahan, along with 20 bags of donations from the public to HOPE Place Kuching to distribute to the needy.
Its marketing officer, Ms. Lianny Bujang, said this is just a small little effort from H&L to help and support the families in need.
“This year’s charity bag is a little different from the past years. Our team has decided to include a box of face mask to ease their burden.”
Earlier this month, H&L announced via its social media channels that the charity bags are available for purchase at selected outlets in Kuching, Samarahan and Siburan.
Ms. Lianny said due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Kuching, H&L know that many got retrenched from work, especially during the enforcement of Movement Control Order (MCO).
“Some even have problems to buy their own food. That is why in conjunction with the soft opening of H&L Xtra at Eco Mall Petra Jaya, we set up a donation bin to encourage customers to drop items like food and general essential needs,” said Lianny.
She also mentioned that H&L will continue to support HOPE Place in any ways they need.
